Hello O.I,


In general, it’s best to start with a simple model and add complexity as you need it. For example, start with a simpler chemical system of the major elements and most important minor and trace elements. It’s also a good idea to start with a reaction model of your fluids and your system, using SpecE8 or React, before progressing to a reactive transport model.


As for your specific example, I noticed that you chose Ca++ as the charge balance ion. There is a lot more Na+ than Ca++ in the fluid, and there’s also quite a lot of Cl- and SO4--. It’s typically best to choose one of the more abundant ions for charge balancing.
