    Problem plotting graphs

    Dear Idrisnda, Thanks for posting your question on the forum. Unfortunately, I don't quite understand your question. If you are trying to plot more than one sample, you can right-click on the plot-->Configure Plot..., and then go to the Samples pane in the Parameters box and pick the samples you want to show on the graph.   2. Dear Elg0086, Thank you for your message. There is no command to call "Cumulative mass influxes and effluxes over simulation". The only way is to get it from Results Output. Also, a well must be located at one node and it can't be spread over several ones. And the nodal composition you get from the output corresponds to the composition of the well. For more information, please see section 4.2 in the GWB Reactive Transport Modeling guide. All GWB guides can be accessed from the Docs pane of the GWB dashboard.     Hi Ning, The error message you are receiving means that your license is currently activated on another computer and you need to deactivate it from the original computer before you can activate it on a new one.   4. Dear Uche, The GWB comes with a set of thermo datasets that you can load each into any GWB app using File-->Open-->Thermo Data... You didn't mention which thermo dataset you are using, but from the ones distributed with the software, there are a few having data for As and Cd (e.g. thermo.com.v8.R6+.tdat and thermo_minteq.tdat). To check which dataset is loaded into GWB apps, you should go to File – File Properties – Thermo Data. The graphical thermodynamic dataset editor called TEdit is included in the Student Edition, and you can access it from the Apps pane of the GWB Dashboard. Sections 9.2.3 and 9.2.4 in the GWB Essentials Guide describe how to add reactions to your thermo dataset using TEdit. All GWB guides can be accessed from the Docs pane of The GWB dashboard.     Dear Shailja, You can move your license by first deactivating it. Once deactivated, you can install and activate it on your new laptop. To deactivate your license, go to the GWB activation utility, select your activation code, and click Deactivate.     Speciate over x-y in Act2

    Hi Danielle, Thanks for attaching your script and the thermo dataset, it was very helpful. Act2 creates activity diagrams for the main diagram species (Ce+++ in your case) across the axes ranges you specify (CO3-- and F- in your script). You may add complexing species (e.g. Al+++, Ba++, Ca++, etc.) under "in the presence of” to see the effect of adding additional chemical components using the "add" button. In your example, Al+++, Ba++, Ca++, etc., are added to a system already containing cesium, Fluoride and carbonate. When you add a component, for example Ca++, to the "in the presence of" field, Act2 assumes by default that Ca++ is the only stable calcium-containing aqueous species over the entire compositional range represented by the X and Y axis. In other words, Ca++ is the only stable form of calcium within the X-axis and Y-axis ranges described. This, however, may not be true in some geochemical systems if you expect Ca++ will speciate in response to changing pH, Eh, or concentration of X and Y axes species (CO3-- and F- in your script). Therefore, if you know that your complexing species reacts under the axes ranges you have set, you can include that in your graph using the "speciate over x”, “speciate over y”, or “speciate over x-y" options. That way, Act2 will plot activity diagrams (you see them as dashed lines in gray) for those species having "speciate over..." option on. You can also include labels for the sub-fields of the plot. To do so, right click on your diagram, select Edit Appearance and check the mosaic labels box in the Diagram pane. When you speciate additional components in an activity diagram, you are essentially overlaying multiple activity diagrams. On a different note, the pressure you set in Act2 affects the position of water stability limits and the fugacities assigned to gaseous species, and not mineral or species stability, but you can certainly set the fugacity of gases as you have for O2(g).   15. Hi Jocelyn, I’m sorry for the error. Please attempt to run the GWB dashboard (workbench.exe) "as administrator". Sometimes the normal installer is unable to install the updated flexlm service, but running the dashboard (or just about any of the GWB executables) as administrator should allow it to install and work OK.   19. Hi Jacklin, A Piper diagram is useful for plotting major ion composition of a suite of samples. It is composed of three components by default; a plot of the cations (Mg++, Ca++ and Na+ + K+), a plot of the anions (Cl-, SO4--, and HCO3- + CO3--), and a diamond-shaped plot at the top is projection of the two ternary diagrams. While you can’t change the axes of a Piper diagram, you can make a ternary diagram look like the anion triangle of a Piper diagram to add .     About import GMS Modflow result to GWB

    Dear John, I don’t think it’s a good idea to modify the discretization files without rerunning the MODFLOW simulation. One strategy is to have the user create a discretization file by hand (in the style of the examples we distribute) then use that in a new MODFLOW calculation. Or, they should figure out a way to have GMS include the needed data (DELR and DELC) in the discretization file. The people supporting GMS would likely have a much better idea how to do that than we would. You should know that importing flow fields from MODFLOW is a very old feature. We are evaluating methods to modernize the MODFLOW-GWB interface for future versions of the software. Hope this helps. Bests, Melika Sharifi Aqueous Solutions LLC
