Cation Exchange Capacity in XT

In using a cation exchange model in XT, a cation exchange capacity is required. Is this the capacity of each node or the capacity of the entire flow domain?

Thanks

Hi Bob:

It's the cation exchange capacity of the entire system.

I hope that helps,

Hi Bob:

I realized that my first reply to you was incomplete and likely misleading. While it is true that the cation exchange capacity is for the "system", the system is the nodal block, not the entire aquifer. If you set your cation exchange capacity in units of equivalents per gram, XT will multiply the CEC by the rock mass of every domain node in order to determine the individual exchange capacity of each node.

Sorry for any confusion,

Tom
