viscosities

How is viscosity calculated? I am particularly interested in how it evolves in a gas-H2O system. I did not find any reference to this in either Craig's book or the software documentation. Did I miss something?

Hi Lou:

Let me see what I can find out.

hi Tom,

Thanks, that's interesting (and is indeed useful), but what I was really wondering about was viscosity. Maybe this is also in the Basin2 guide, but that is no longer available at UIUC hydrogeology site, I gather they "retired" the software.

Density calculations are given as follows (the equations are taken out of UIUC's Basin modeling program guide):

I hope that helps.

Hi Lou:

Here is the correct portion of the manual:

The reference is as follows:

Phillips, S.L.H, H. Ozbek, A. Igbene and G. Litton, 1980, Viscosity of NaCl and other solutions up to 350C and 50 MPa pressures. Lawrence Berkely Laboratory Report LBL-11586, 71 p.

Let me know if that resolves it for you.

Regards,

Tom
