Frank
Dear all, i a have a technical issue when working with stable isotope parameters in GWB plots. In my worksheet, I added new user-defined parameter, e.g. d2H and d18O and labeled them as the "isotopic composition". But when i am trying to visualize those parameters for example in cross plots, GTplot crashes immediately when i am selecting the category “isotopic composition”. Can somebody advice me, how to solve this issue? Thanks and best regards, Frank
Jia Wang
Hello Frank, Thank you for reporting this issue. This is a bug in GSS and I have forwarded it to our technical staff for further investigation. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. As a temporary solution, could you please try changing the Category type for your isotope analytes to see if the same crashing issue persists? For example, when I set the Category type to 'Chemical parameters' and kept the Dimension as 'Number,' I encountered no issues with plotting the data. In this case, the isotope entries can be found under the Variable type "Chemical parameters" in Gtplot, rather than Isotopic composition. If you continue to experience issues after changing the Category type, please send us a simplified version of the GSS spreadsheet so we can investigate further. We will provide an update on this thread once a solution is available for the crashing issue. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience caused. Frank
Hi Jia thanks for your fast response. When selecting "chemical parameters" (or other) as variable type i am able to plot the isotope data. I just wonder if the bug in "isotopic compositions" might come up again when using isotope data in other modules, such as SpecEC8... But for now i am fine. Thanks again and best regards, Frank
Jia Wang
Hello Frank, The issue of plotting isotope user analyte is now corrected in the maintenance release 17.0.3. If automatic update is enabled, you should be prompted to update in the next few days when you open the GWB dashboard. You can also manually update by going to check for updates under the "Help" menu of any app or on the Support pane of the GWB dashboard.
